President's Message

My Fellow Members,
A happy new year to you all !
I am sure you have started the year 2009 with a new hope and resolution for yourself and your family.
In starting a new year, I would like to let you know again that I am very proud of our JCC and its role in the community, and I am honored and humbled to be assigned the role of President of JCC this time. I recognize and appreciate the valuable legacy and intangible assets that have been built and accumulated by our predecessors for us through the history of the Chamber for the past 60 years. I am also very excited about the future of this organization, and look forward to the challenges ahead.
I have to recognize the heavy responsibility and tasks to do too.
Along with my fellow members, I want to move JCC forward, improve our outreach efforts, and make our JCC thrive even more through our volunteer activities to support our community. I hope such efforts on our part will lead to better recognition and respect from the community.
I ask you to join us in our collective efforts. I will be soliciting your strong support and cooperation in making our joint efforts more successful and rewarding. We have many committees and events as you saw in the sign-up sheets placed at our last General Meeting back in November. Doors are all open to you. Please come in, join us and enjoy the company and tasks together.
Among many activities that await us in the year 2009, we will celebrate our very 60th anniversary. This is an incredible milestone.
Let's work out a wonderful anniversary event to imprint our history and start a new decade from there.
Each of us lives only one invaluable life. I am sure that our volunteer activities together at JCC will make our lives more livable and enriched. My best wishes for your happiness, good health and prosperity throughout 2009.
Sincerely,
Toshio (Terry) Handa
President
